Clyst Hydon 1st XI v Chagford

Clyst Hydon stormed to the top of the C Division by winning the only game to go the distance!

Chagford were the opposition and must have wished they had stayed at home after slumping to their third defeat on the bounce.

Chagford were rolled over for 152 at the end of an innings that never got out of second gear for long.

When skipper Colin Mortimore got out for 19, three wickets fell for two runs to leave Chagford 31 for three.

Without a battling 31 from Duncan Christophers, which rescued Chagford from 88 for six, the situation could have been worse.

Kevin Sercombe (3-31) and Mark Johnson (3-43) were the leading wicket takers for Clyst Hydon. Danesh Nandana (2-32) did his bit.
Ian Sutton (79) and Steve Doyle (35) made an 84-run haul in the chase. Sutton was out two runs short of victory, having seen Clyst to the brink of a win in tandem with Clinton Lewis (25no) who saw off Clyst to victory and take them to the top of the table.
