Clyst Hydon v Frogmore (25th May 2008) Friendly
Despite the game being re-sheduled to start at 5.00pm due to poor weather early on it was possible to play 25 overs per side.
Clyst Hydon came out winners against touring side 'Frogmore' helped by an excellent performance from Clinton Lewis with both bat and ball...
The game was a close run thing but it proved to be Clyst Hydon that just had the edge.
The Frogmore captain was concerned that his team may not be strong and so to make things interesting all players were asked to bowl 2 overs each with the spare overs taken by choice of the captains. This action was criticised in part by certain team members, however, they were reminded that the game was 'friendly' and due to the loss of overs it was important to give everyone a game.
A welcome return to Clyst Hydon by Bruce Wilkinson following surgery on a shoulder problem showed he had not lost any talent with the bat and a couple of overs proved that the surgery had been a success as he zipped some very good deliveries.
Another return to the side by Brian Harvey who showed that 'pace & guile' were still a factor to be reckoned with taking a couple of wickets.
