Clyst Hydon 1st XI v Seaton June 7th 2008

Clyst Hydon's record of losing away games continued as Seaton beat them by 3 wickets. Although Clyst Hydon still manage to top the table by 5 points.

Batting first they faced their first disaster when in-form batsman I.Sutton fell cheaply, followed by the next 4 wickets leaving them struggling at 44 for 5 and looking to be bolwed out for one of their lowest scores! Then in walked K.Sercombe to join C.Lewis at the crease and these two, who have a good record of batting together, put on a valuable 98 runs for the 6th wicket to take them to a somewhat respectable score of 152 with Sercombe ending up with 59 n.o and C.lewis out in the last over for 37.

The chase didnt start at all well for Seaton and soon they were 24 for 4 with Sercombe and Nananda taking 2 wickets each but D.Cottam 54, and M.Hewer 42 broke Clyst Hydon hearts with a great 101 run partnership to seal a 3 wicket victory.
