Clyst Hydon v SWANTONS 29th June 2008 (friendly)

The long trek up to Bristol proved once again to be well worth it with Clyst Hydon opening the batting against an eager Swantons side.

A welcome return by Chairman Keith Wood saw him run a quick 2 runs straight after joining the fray and make a fantastic 3 runs before being bowled on a difficult wicket.

Good performances from P. Harris, D. Nandana, C. Lewis took our total to 219 - 7 by the end of the 40 overs.

Tea was provided in the 'scorers hut' by Phil Swanton, sadly missing from the team due to injury.

After tea Clyst came out to bowl with D. Richards and S. Hodgson opening (yes, Hoggy bowled!) With S. Hodgson taking 2 wickets for 13 runs off 5 overs. Well deserved wickets also came from S. Petit and T. Petit with the tail-enders being mopped up by D. Nandana and B. Wilkinson.

Clyst ran out the winners with overs to spare!

It was then off to the pub for some well earned 'Black Rat'
