Clyst Hydon 1st XI v Ivybridge June 28th 2008

CLYST Hydon's lead at the top has been trimmed to a two points as they were held to a winning draw by Ivybridge .

Trude led the way for Clyst Hydon with 65 in a total of 231 for eight.
After winning the toss Clyst opted to bat and were given a fairly good start with I.Sutton getting 25 but after him quick wickets fell, and a good partnership between G.Trude and Clinton Lewis (48) put up 89 for the sixth wicket after new signing John Rhodes had made 41.

After Lewis got out Trude carried on the good work to take the home team to a fairly decent score of 231 for 8.

Jamie Bullock led the Ivybridge bowling effort with three for 66. Mike Anderson had two for 35.

Ivybridge had some decent stands early on, both involving Andy Johnson (49). One was worth 68 with Nick Dunn (22) and the other 41 with Kelvin Trent (29), who was dropped twice saved the game for Ivybridge,Sercombe gave clyst a hope taking late wickets but could not bowl out the visitors.

Rhodes (2-35) bowled tidily but the honours definitely went to Kevin Sercombe (4-47).

Andy Coker and Bullock patted back the last two overs to earn a draw at 172 for eight Clyst hold on to their leaders position and will have to play much better againt Feniton next week to stay on top.
