Clyst Hydon vs Wye Rustics ( friendly)
Clyst skipper S.Holmes won the toss and elected to bat on a very grassy indifferent wicket.
The home team started fairly well at 47 for 2. Then there was a brilliant 170 run patnership fior the 4th between J.Rhodes (98) and C.Lewis (62), where there was some hard hiiting and massive sixes from Rhodes in very quick time until he was out 2 short of a century trying a pull a short pitched ball and was caught behind and so after Lewis too fell playing at a short pitched wide delivery but took the score to a respectable 285 in the 40 alloted overs, there was also good hitting from B.Wilkinson (32).
The Rustics team were always in the hunt and never gave up the chase but were running short of overs and with the run rate going up started to play their shorts but ended 13 runs short at 272 for 9, the wickets were shared by J.Rhodes,C.Lewis, and D.Nandana who took 2 wickets each.
Another victory for the home team , and hope they keep this winning trend up.
