CLYST HYDON 1st XI VS TIVERTON 26/8/08
JOHN RHODES STARS IN GOOD ALL ROUND PERFORMANCE
After losing the toss the home team was put into bat first on a lovely batting track which looked full of runs yet Tiverton decided to field first.
Wickets fell early with seamer Hubbard taking 2. J. Rhodes (55) and G. Trude (65) batted very well and built a good partnership to take the home team to good score.
After their wickets fell C. Lewis (22 not out) and D. Nandana (31 not out) batted well to achieve a very good total of 257 for 6 in 46 overs.
In reply Tiverton really were never comfortable and found themselves struggling at 56 for 5 with K. Sercombe doing the early damage, taking the first three wickets, however, the bowling honours went to J. Rhodes who took 4-31 with the help of D. Nandana 2-59 to restrict Tiverton to 153 all out. D. Perry (46) and P. Lester (38) were the only batsmen who showed some resistance for the visitors.
Another good all round performance by the Clyst Hydon boys who are looking a good bet to win the league and promotion. They must keep playing to this standard; keep the good work up boys.
