Clyst Hydon 1st XI v Ivybridge

MATT FITT COMES GOOD AT LAST IN WINNING DRAW

Clyst Hydon's winning draw at Ivybridge installed them as title favourites while Kingsbridge are certain to accompany them despite a surprise 55-run defeat against Tiverton & Bickleigh.

After being put in on a very wet wicket and out feild, Clyst soon lost Sutton and P.Harris early but a brilliant stand of 138 for the 4th wicket between M.Fitt (75) and G.Trude (71no) took the visitors to a very reasonable score of 230 for 4 in the alloted 46 overs, P Veale taking 2-28 for the home team.

Chasing that sort of score with reduced visibilty and sticky wicket was always going to be hard, but with bad light intrupting play on and of the home team managed to hold on and not get bowled out finishing 168 for 7

D.Nandana again being the impressive bolwer taking 6-35.

Clyst Hydon 230-4 (M Fitt 75, G Trude 71, Extras 40; P Veale 2-28), Ivybridge 168-7 (N Dunn 30, A Johnson 26, K Trent 26, D Soloman 26; D Nandana 6-35).

Clyst (14pts) drew with Ivybridge (7).
