Skipper M.Johnson does make strange decisions which somehow he seems to get away with, winning the toss and batting first he decided to give Dich Richards a bat and sent him in at number 3, in a 40 overs match Dick managed to score 4 consuming 21 overs in the process until he was out.
So with the score at 86 for 4 and only 17 overs left Clyst needed to go for the runs and get to a respectable score.
C. Lewis (100 not out) with 13 4s and 4 sixes off only 54 balls and B. Wilkinson (60 not out) with 9 4s and 1 six in 53 balls put on and unbeaten impressive stand of 163 runs for the 5th wicket to take the home team to a very reasonable score of 248-4 in 40 overs.
Chasing, the Commoners got off to a impressive start with S. Godden blasting 60 to take them to 68 in the first overs but a impressive burst of seam bowling from Louis Bowen 4-31 sent them reeling to 108 for 5. A.Gooden 37 showed some resistance but they were all out for 187, C Lewis clearing up with 3-26
