CLYST HYDON VS KINGSBRIDGE 22-5-09 (LEAGUE)
Clyst Hydon (204-5) held on for a draw away to Kingsbridge (272-9) Skipper Martyn Dudley decided to abandon the chase when he went out to bat at 114 for five with 18 overs to go.
On a perfect day, sunshine and good batting track, the home team batted first, and again due to inaccurate bowling clyst Hydon managed to give away 51 extras, these extras balls and runs we give away are costing us these games, which in turn helped Kingsbridge to a healthy score of 272-9, Ashley Treeby scoring a hard hitting 57, K.Sercombe was once again the leading wicket taker 5-52 in his 13 overs.
Chasing this massive score Clyst Hydon couldn't ask for a worse start as I.Sutton and N.Hodgin were out in the first over, M.Glenny (17) was out with the score at 23 and the visitors were struggling, but good sensible batting from P.Harris 42 and C.Lewis took Clyst to 112 when Harris and Sercombe fell and Clyst stugglin at 112 for 5.
But a impressive stand between M. Dudley (27no) and Clinton Lewis (83no) batted through to make 90 unbroken in Hydon's 46-over total of 204 for five.
Kingsbridge 272-9 (A Treeby 57, S Gledhill 45, C Bowles 31, Extras 51; K Sercombe 5-52. M Johnson 2-54, L Morgan 2-53),
Clyst Hydon 204-5 (C Lewis 83no, P Harris 43, M Dudley 27no; N Peach 3-54).
