CLYST HYDON VS SOUTHGATE COMPTON (Friendly) 26-5-09

Batting first on a perfect hard track in good sunshine, ideal conditions, R.Baggs and Pat Harris got off to a flying start scoring 62 without loss in 8 overs but soon the damage came.

R. Baggs (30) P. Harris (19) C. Holmes (12) B. Wilkenson (7) B. Jones (1) all fell quickly and Clyst were struggling at 79 for 6.
However, a good steady partnership between S. Doyle (45) and C. Lewis (39 not out) along with S.Hodgson (24 not out) managed to get them to quite a respectable score od 182 for 7 in their alloted 35 overs.

A special mention for S.Hodgson who hit his first ever six for Clyst Hydon after 8 years of playing cricket there, you never heard so much celebration from his team mates!

Chasing the target Southgate Compton easily knocked the score off.

A. Montague 33 C. Frame 48 and a superb hard hitting 69 not out from R. Fahey saw them through to 183 for the loss of just 5 wickets. W.Moore again bowled well scooping 2-26.
