Clyst Hydon VS Plymtree (Freindly) 31st May 2009
CLYST HYDON SUFFER BIGGEST DEFEAT OF SEASON
Never under estimate the opposition in cricket... A good lesson for team Clyst Hydon as they were all skittled out for a measly 74
Plymtree won the toss and elected to bat but were soon in big trouble being 24 for 5 in 10 overs. C. Lewis taking 5 for 20, until 'on field' acting skipper N.Hodgin decided to make a game of it and relaxed the bowling attack, with the idea of giving them more runs and backing his batsman to get the target.
So some good batting from Malcom 47 and J. Granfeild 45 managed to take Plmtree to a decent score of 157 all out in 37.1 overs C.Lewis finishing with 6-20.
Chasing Clyst Hydon got off to a flyer with 45 for no loss in 6 overs until S. Eaglesome 34 was clean bowled then N.Hodgin (9) B. Wilkinson (6) B. Gittsham (2) S.Hodgson (0) P.Hodgson (3) C. Lewis (Golden 0) and D. Richards (0) all fell very cheaply and Clyst Hydon were all out for just 74, their lowest score in years.
Some inspired bowling from young Jack Granfeild 4-19 was the main cause of the defeat.
