Swantons Vs Clyst Hydon (Friendly) 22/06/09

The long trek up to the Old Bristolians ground to play our old friends Swantons turned out to be a real turn up for the books... Despite the overcast conditions with a few light spots of rain the game (as always) was a joy to play in.

Making his comeback for Swantons after a break from playing of 5 years was the man himself, Phil Swanton. This is the guy responsible for the team that always has the best haircuts!

Clyst opened the batting but lost an early wicket with P. Garnham falling to a stumping without score. M. Johnson got into the swing of things and ended up on a very respectable 56 (His first 1/2 Century) after being bowled by S. Hoare, the pick of the Swanton bowling attack.
H. Wood also failed to score, however, there were notable contributions from N. Hodgin (35) B. Wilkinson (36) but the team eventually succumbed with a total of 193 All Out.

In reply Swantons never looked to be in trouble with Sage going on to make 58 before being caught by P. Garnham off the bowling of B. Wilkinson who eventually claimed 2-26 off 8 Aldridge also played an excellent supporting role with a very respectable 48 (Not Out)

Swantons won after seeing out all available overs.
